CE/CME Information
Credit Hours
Evening programs are 2 hours and the workshops are 3 hours.
3 Credit Hours will be awarded for the course "Current Trends in Prescribing and Collaboration Among Professionals."
12 Credit Hours will be awarded upon successful completion of the course "Psychoanalytic Schools of Thought: Theory and Technique."
Social Workers
The Houston-Galveston Psychoanalytic Society is approved to offer continuing education units to social workers by the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners, sponsor number CS4518. It is anticipated that monthly meetings and workshops will meet requirements for hourly continuing education credit.
Psychologists
The Texas State Licensing Board of Psychologists does not pre-approve workshops for continuing education. It is anticipated that this monthly meeting will meet requirements for "x" hours of CE credit for psychologists.
Licensed Professional Counselors
The Houston-Galveston Psychoanalytic Society is approved by The American Psychoanalytic Association through the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, CE Provider Number 2666, to offer continuing education credit to licensed professional counselors.
Marriage and Family Therapists
The Houston-Galveston Psychoanalytic Society, as a co-sponsor with the Houston-Galveston Psychoanalytic Institute, is an approved sponsor of continuing education for licensed marriage and family therapists by the Texas Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists.
Physicians
An activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of The American Psychoanalytic Association and The Houston-Galveston Psychoanalytic Institute. The American Psychoanalytic Association is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians and takes responsibility for the content, quality, and scientific integrity of the CME activity.
The American Psychoanalytic Association designates an educational activity for a maximum of "x" hours in category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.
