Membership

Thank you for your interest in joining The Houston-Galveston Psychoanalytic Society. HGPS membership contributes to our goals of (1) expanding awareness of the importance of psychoanalytic thinking in our community, and (2) providing educational enrichment opportunities to all individuals who have such an interest. We look forward to a year of outstanding programming and opportunities to visit with others who share an interest in psychoanalytic thinking and practice.

Monthly meetings are usually held on the second Wednesday of each month at St. Stephen's, Episcopal School, 1800 Sul Ross. Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. with wine and a light supper, followed by the evening’s program at 7:30 p.m.

Membership Benefits

With an awareness of current economic shifts, the Board is offering additional membership benefits this year.

• Fee reduction (see below for dues amounts) if dues are paid before October 1, 2010.
• Listing in online Membership Directory with contact information, populations served, and areas of specialty (Active members and Students only). To be listed in the Membership Directory, dues must be paid before October 1, 2010.
• Ability to network using the newly-created online "HGPS" Bulletin Board (Active Members and Students only).

Active Member

• 2 hours CEU for each monthly meeting
• 3 hour ethics course (free)
• Reduced fees at workshops
• Business meetings with dinner or reception
• Opportunity to vote and hold office
• Listing in Membership Directory with contact information and areas of specialty
• Ability to network using online "HGPS Bulletin Board"

Student Member

• Must be a full-time student
• Same benefits as Active Member

Friend

• 2 hours CEU for each monthly meeting; $20 charge per meeting
• Reduced fees at workshops

Active Membership

• Before October 1, 2010: $180
• After October 1, 2010: $200

Student Membership

• Before October 1, 2010: $35
• After October 1, 2010: $45

Friend Membership

• Before October 1, 2010: $90
• After October 1, 2010: $100
